Madelyn A. Baer, B.A. :: Chiropractic Assistant/ Massage Therapist
Madelyn
moved to Vermont as a young girl and has been in love with the state
ever since. She attended the University of Vermont and excelled in
her study o f psychology, especially biopsychology and nervous system
function. Since she was a teenager, she has worked extensively on
her family’s farm training and rehabilitating horses. This work has
taught her the importance of touch in the neuro-emotional, as well
as musculoskeletal, function of all animals (people too!). She believes
strongly in holistic treatment and is an advocate of chiropractic
care in the medical world.
When not at Chittenden County Chiropractic, Madelyn’s energies are devoted to a multitude of activities. She works at local theatres as a stage technician, bringing art to life. At home she tends a vegetable garden, attempts to find harmonies on her bass guitar, and dabbles in various arts & crafts projects (this year it’s knitting). And every day her feline encourages her to sit down awhile for and invest in some purring.
Madelyn is pleased to offer deep tissue and relaxation massage integrated with her specialized training to increase cellular awareness and neuro-muscular re-education. Please contact her directly to schedule massage appointments. Phone: (802)881-4968 Email: Madelyn.Baer@gmail.com
Allison May :: Certified Massage Therapist | Simply Being Massage Therapy
Allison
moved to the area in the summer of 2007, after spending a few years
home in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Allison worked as Dr. Pike’s Chiropractic
Assistant until April of 2009, when she decided to focus solely on
her private practice, Simply
Being Massage Therapy. She currently has an office at Chittenden
County Chiropractic and is available for appointments three days
a week. Her massage training includes over 850 hours of study through
courses with the Green Mountain Institute, a one month intensive
in Luz, Portugal, and the certification year from Wellness Massage
Center and Institute in St. Albans, VT. Her primary focus is a holistic
approach to body wellness using a variety of deep tissue, Swedish,
Shiatsu, Thai and Reiki modalities.
Many experiences have evolved to bring Allison to massage therapy. She has always been drawn to alternative health and has received various forms of bodywork for most of her life. Prior to her work as a Massage Therapist, Allison received her Bachelor’s from Acadia University in Nova Scotia, and she worked for many years with youth in wilderness settings and teaching high school English. Alongside her private practice, Allison is focusing on developing her art in preparation for pursuing her Masters of Fine Art or Education. Allison’s other interests include yoga, hiking, reading, gardening, and playing with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Loka, with whom she and her partner Todd reside with in Burlington.

Kristina
has been with Chittenden County Chiropractic since the practice opened
in April 2006. A native of southern New Hampshire, Kristina had some
experience traveling before deciding to settle in Vermont. In 2002
she set out and hiked part of the Appalachian Trail. After spending
days walking and contemplating what life had to offer, Kristina realized
that sitting at a desk all day long was not her style; helping people
was. She started looking into Massage Therapy. The Wild West beckoned
and on to Phoenix Therapeutic Massage College in Arizona. Then, school
was completed and deliberations made. Being a New Englander at heart,
Kristina decided life in the Northeast was her future and Vermont
was for her. She has been practicing massage therapy for about two
years and is consistently looking for new knowledge and finding better
ways to help people feel healthy. She also enjoys hiking, weightlifting,
cooking and reading.
